ARCATA, Calif..--- Humboldt State will travel to Chico, Calif., this Saturday, December 21 for its final game of the 2019 calendar year. The Lumberjacks will face the Chico State Wildcats this Saturday in a 5:30pm scheduled CCAA contest in Chico, Calif.
RECAP OF THIS PAST WEEKEND: The Lumberjacks went 1-1 last weekend in their two games against San Francisco State and Cal State East Bay. They defeated the Gators 71-59 last Thursday at home behind
Alexia Thrower's 24 points and 10 rebounds while
Tyra Turner scored 12 points and dished out 10 assists.
Madeline Hatch added 14 points and
Molly Dixon chipped in 10 points. HSU on Saturday lost 59-58 at Cal State East Bay as the Lumberjacks' 16-point rally fell short. Turner paced HSU with a season high 16 points and Dixon chipped in 15 points while Thrower had 14 points and 12 rebounds.
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: Humboldt State is 8-3 overall and 4-2 in the CCAA heading into game this Saturday at Chico State. The Lumberjacks are averaging 66.2 points per game while giving up 60.0 points per game. They are being out-rebounded 37.6 to 32.6.
Alexia Thrower leads the way with her 21.2 scoring average followed by
Madeline Hatch's 10.2 average. Thrower also leads HSU with her 10.5 rebounding average, six blocked shots, 20 steals, 72.7% shooting from the line and 52.9% shooting from the field.
Tyra Turner has dished out a team leading 49 assists while
Gabrielle Carbajal is shooting. Team high 35% from three's.

st with her 10.5 rebounding average. She also leads the CCAA in scoring, rebounding and total rebounds. For her career, Thrower has scored 672 points and grabbed 373 rebounds. The senior guard/forward is averaging 21.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per game average while shooting 52% from the field and 72% from the line in HSU's first 11 games. Thrower is third on HSU's all-time career list in total rebounds.
Tyra Turner is 16
th in the nation with her 5.4 assists per game average while she is 27
th with her 49 total assists. She is also 45
th in the nation with her +2.13 assist/turnover ratio. Turner leads the CCAA with her assists per game average and second in assist/turnover ratio. For her career, Turner has scored 959 points, dished out 434 assists and recorded 198 steals. In Humboldt State's top ten career lists, Turner is ninth in scoring, second in assists and third in steals. This season, she is averaging 9.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while dishing out 49 assists and recording 14 steals. She also has two double-doubles this season.
25-8 AT LUMBERJACK ARENA: The are 25-8 at Lumberjack Arena since the beginning of the 2017-18 season. Humboldt State is 5-1 this season with its only loss a 76-73 to Western Washington on Nov. 9.
SEVENTH IN THE REGION: In the recent D2SIDA NCAA Division II West Region Poll, Humboldt State is seventh. The top five teams are 1.) Hawaii Pacific, 2.) Alaska Anchorage, 3.) Cal State San Marcos, 4.) UC San Diego and 5.) Azusa Pacific. Rounding out the top five are 6.) Point Loma, 7.) Humboldt State, T8.) Cal State East Bay, T8.) Central Washington T10.) Western Washington and T10.) Northwest Nazarene.

CHICO STATE: The Wildcats are 7-3 overall and 3-3 in the CCAA after winning their last three games in a row including both games this past weekend. Chico State defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 69-58 at home and Sonoma State 66-62 in Rohnert Park. The Wildcats are averaging 63.6 points per game while giving up 61.2 points per game. Chico State is being out-rebounded 37.2 to 32.4. Maddy Wong leads the way with her 12.9 scoring averaging and 44% shooting from three's. Byrnnn Thoming is shooting a team best 44% from the field and Hannah Washington is shooting a team high 75% from the line. Daisha Abdelkader has dished out a team leading 41 assists and Washington leads the team with her 6.5 rebounding average and six blocked shots along with her 16 steals. Since 2016, HSU leads the all-time series 16-13 including splitting last year's two games.
