FIRST HALF:  The 'Jacks had a couple of chances early in the match to take the early lead.  The first came in the fifth minute when Christian Gonzalez's shot was stopped by the Seawolves' Ter Riet Reinier.  Three minutes later, Devin Hauenstein saw his shot goal over the goal, but less than thirty seconds later, Marco Silveira gave the 'Jacks a 1-0 lead when he connected on a ball from Hauenstein.  Humboldt State kept its surge going as Yushi Kato's shot was stopped by SSU's keeper in the 13th minute.  Silveira had a chance to double the Lumberjack's lead but the visitors' keeper made another stop.  With 13 minutes left in the half, the 'Jacks had another chance to double their lead but Cole Falco's shot sailed over the top of the net.  With less than a minute left in the half, HSU was called for a foul in the box and Miles Hogdon made the 'Jacks pay as he connected on the penalty kick to send match into the half tied at 1-1.

SECOND HALF:  The second half was evenly played. The hosts had two chances in the 60th minute to retake the lead but both Dylan Tovani's and Cole Falco's shots sailed high over the net.  The 'Jacks had another chance for the lead, but Alex Lopez's shot was stopped by Ter Riet Reiner in the 75th minute.  Sonoma State (5-8-1, 1-5-1 CCAA) looked like the Seawolves were going to take the lead, but Adrian Gallardo made a huge save stopping Sean Rohane's shot on goal attempt.  The 'Jacks had the final chance to take the win in regulation, but Christian Gonzalez's shot attempt went to the right of the net as the match went into overtime.
