ARCATA, Calif--- Daniel Adeyeye connected on a ball from
Yushi Kato just 46 seconds into the overtime period for the golden goal in the Humboldt State Lumberjacks' 2-1 win over the visiting Sonoma State Seawolves. With the win, the 'Jacks improve to 9-2-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the CCAA with their third straight win.
Marco Silveira's scored the match's first goal on a ball from

FIRST HALF: The 'Jacks had a couple of chances early in the match to take the early lead. The first came in the fifth minute when
Christian Gonzalez's shot was stopped by the Seawolves' Ter Riet Reinier. Three minutes later,
Devin Hauenstein saw his shot goal over the goal, but less than thirty seconds later,
Marco Silveira gave the 'Jacks a 1-0 lead when he connected on a ball from Hauenstein. Humboldt State kept its surge going as
Yushi Kato's shot was stopped by SSU's keeper in the 13
th minute. Silveira had a chance to double the Lumberjack's lead but the visitors' keeper made another stop. With 13 minutes left in the half, the 'Jacks had another chance to double their lead but
Cole Falco's shot sailed over the top of the net. With less than a minute left in the half, HSU was called for a foul in the box and Miles Hogdon made the 'Jacks pay as he connected on the penalty kick to send match into the half tied at 1-1.
SECOND HALF: The second half was evenly played. The hosts had two chances in the 60
th minute to retake the lead but both
Dylan Tovani's and
Cole Falco's shots sailed high over the net. The 'Jacks had another chance for the lead, but
Alex Lopez's shot was stopped by Ter Riet Reiner in the 75
th minute. Sonoma State (5-8-1, 1-5-1 CCAA) looked like the Seawolves were going to take the lead, but
Adrian Gallardo made a huge save stopping Sean Rohane's shot on goal attempt. The 'Jacks had the final chance to take the win in regulation, but
Christian Gonzalez's shot attempt went to the right of the net as the match went into overtime.
OVERTIME: Huumbolt State came out on fire in the overtime. The 'Jacks stole the ball and came down the pitch and
Daniel Adeyeye scored off a ball from

IN THE SIXTH SPOT: Humboldt State currently holds the sixth spot in the regular season standings in the CCAA. The top six teams at the end of the regular season will receive a berth to the CCAA Championships. The 'Jzacks are just one point behind fifth place (Chico State), two out of fourth place (Cal State San Bernardino, six out of third place (Cal Poly Pomona) and seven out of second place (Cal State Dominguez Hills). Cal State Los Angeles holds the top spot with its 7-0 record with four matches left in the regular season.
