SEATTLE, Wash.---A Hailey Marlow jumper with 27 seconds left in regulation gave Seattle Pacific (1-1) a 53-52 lead. Humboldt State had a chance to take the lead back, but the 'Jacks shot fell short with six seconds and a free throw by Kaprice Boston sealed the 54-52 win for the Falcons.
Kaz Parks paced the 'Jacks with a game high 18 points on five-of-ten shooting from the field including going three-for-seven from three-point land and five-for-six from the line. Natalie Hoff led the Falcons with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Beth Pettingill had 15 points off the bench.

SECOND QUARTER: Seattle Pacific ( scored the first two points of the second quarter on a lay-up by Natalie Hoff to tie the game at 14-14. A three-point field goal by
Citlaly Davalos off a pass from
Ashley Taylor Peralta gave the visitors back the 17-14 lead. SPU tied the game at 19-19 on a jump shot by Beth Pettingill with six minutes left in the half. HSU went on a 5-0 run capped by a
Kaz Parks' fast-break lay-up to take a 24-19 lead. The Falcons followed that with an 8-0 run capped by two free throws by Pettingill to take a 27-24 lead. A trey by Davalos off a pass from Parks tied the game at 27-27 with 1:35 on the clock. Each team was held scoreless in the final minute as the game went into the half tied at 27-27.
THIRD QUARTER: Humboldt State (0-2) outscored the Falcons 6-3 in the first five minutes of the third quarter to take a 33-30 lead on a
Madison Parry jumper. The 'Jacks increased that lead to 38-34 on a three-pointer by
Kaz Parks off a pass from Parry with just 2:37 on the clock. Seattle Pacific finished the quarter on a 5-0 run capped by a Hailey Marlow three to take a 39-38 lead into the final ten-minute period.
FOURTH QUARTER: The hosts started the final quarter outscoring HSU 8-4 to take a 47-42 lead in the first four minutes. A Kaprice Boston jumper increased the hosts' lead to 49-42, but the 'Jacks did not go away. In the next four minutes, HSU went on a 10-2 run to take a 52-51 lead capped by a made free throw by
Kaz Parks. On SPU's next possession, Marlow gave the Falcons a 53-52 lead. HSU had a chance to take the lead but its shot attempt fell short. The 'Jacks were forced to foul the Falcons and Kaprice Boston went one-of-two from the line with one second left in regulation. Humboldt State called a time-out and advanced the ball to half-court. The Lumberjacks' shot attempt to take the lead was after the buzzer as SPU took the 54-52 non-conference victory.
