Humboldt State Falls 4-1 in Regular Season Finale

CHICO, Calif. ----  Chico State Wildcats (9-2-5, 5-1-4 CCAA) scored three unanswered goals including two in the second half to key their 4-1 win over the visiting Humboldt State Lumberjacks in both teams' regular season finale.  Kelsey Bess scored the goal for the 'Jacks in the 25th minute.

Quotes from the Coach: "We put up a good fight for about 70 minutes but Chico took advantage of their chances," said head coach Grant Landy. "I would like to thank all our seniors for all their hard work and leadership this season.  Despite our record I am excited about what the future holds for this program and our players."
 
FIRST HALF: The hosts had the first chance for the lead in the second minute, but Marisol Camargo stopped Brynn Howard's shot on goal attempt.  The Lumberjacks (4-10-4, 1-8-2 CCAA) had its chance to take the lead in the 13th minute when Kelsey Bess' shot on goal attempt was stopped by the Wildcats' keeper, Emma Hoffman.  Chico State took the 1-0 lead on a goal by Susanna Garcia off a pass by Kylie Martinez in the 15th minute.  The Wildcats didn't have the lead for long as Kelsey Bess tied the game at 1-1 in the 25th minute. Chico State came right back and took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Camille Lidster off a pass from Brynn Howard and Madison Parsons in the 28th minute.  The Wildcats had several chances to increase their lead in the final minutes of the half including when Camille Lidster's shot sailed wide to send the match into the half with the hosts leading 2-1. 
 
SECOND HALF:  Marisol Camargo made one of her season high nine saves stopping Natalie Mendeoz's shot on goal attempt in the 48th minute.  The Wildcats increased their lead to 3-1 on a goal by Madison Parsons off a pass from Summer Baron and Sarah Emigh.  They took a 4-1 lead on a goal by Parsons off a pass from Jordan Doukakis in the 74th minute. 
 
THIRD STRAIGHT MATCH:  For the third straight match, Marisol Camargo recorded a season high in saves this time nine.
