CHICO, Calif--- All five starters scored in double digits to lead the Humboldt State Lumberjacks (4-4, 3-1 CCAA) past Chico State 105-96 in triple overtime at Art Acker Gymnasium in Chico, Calif.
Julia Iman had a career night with 33 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists to lead the way for the 'Jacks.
Ashley Peralta added 22 points while
Madison Parry scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the victors. Also scoring in double digits for HSU were
Kaz Parks with 18 points and
Sharon Roldan with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
QUOTES FROM THE COACH: "That was an unbelievable game," said head coach
Michelle Bento-Jackson. "Julia's (Iman) shot was incredible. Because none of our players have played in the Chico/HSU game. I really don't even think they understand the magnitude of this win. "challenge the girls daily with being more mentally and physically tough and they did it all tonight. They were so resilient. That was an extremely hard-fought win and I am SO SO proud of this team!"
FIRST QUARTER: The Lumberjacks jumped out to a 21-2 lead in the first six minutes of the game capped by a
Julia Iman jumper off a pass from
Kaz Parks. Chico State went on a 10-0 run in the next three minutes to cut HSU's lead to 21-12. A three by Parks off an assist from
Madison Parry increased their lead back to double digits (24-12) with a little under a minute to go in the quarter. Chico State (4-5, 1-3 CCAA) scored the final five points of the quarter to cut the deficit to 24-17 heading into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: Humboldt State scored the second quarter just like the 'Jacks did in the first and scored the first nine points to take a 33-17 lead in the first three minutes. A three by Myli Martinez stopped the Lumberjacks' run to make it 38-24 'Jacks. Chico State cut the Lumberjack lead to 39-34 on a three by Bailey Jones. A lay-up by
Sharon Roldan gave HSU a 41-34 lead, but the Wildcats' Charity Gallegos' jumper cut the visitors' lead to 41-36 heading into the locker room.
THIRD QUARTER: A
Madison Parry lay-up off a pass from
Sharon Roldan capped a 11-2 run by the 'Jacks to start the third quarter to give HSU a 52-38 lead. HSU held a double-digit lead until Bailey Jones hit a three late in the quarter to put Chico State within seven (57-50) heading into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Chico State kept its run going as the Wildcats cut their deficit to 57-55 on a three by Bailey Jones. A free throw by
Ashley Peralta increased HSU's lead to 58-55 at the 8:14 mark of the quarter. A jumper by Jones on Chico States next possession cut HSU's lead to just one (59-58). HSU came right back and took a 65-61 lead on a jumper by Peralta off a pass from
Julia Iman with just 4:15 left in regulation. A three by Charity Gallegos tied the game at 70-70 for the Wildcats with two minutes left, but a three by
Kaz Parks off a pass from Peralta gave HSU a 73-70 lead on its next possession. Chico State scored the next three points capped by a lay-up by Gallegos tied the game at 73-73 with just ten seconds left on the clock. Chico State had a chance to win the game, but its shot fell short as the buzzer sounded.
FIRST OVERTIME: Two made free throws by Jordan Morris just two minutes into the overtime gave the hosts a 78-73 lead. HSU came right back and cut the Chico lead to 78-77 on a lay-up by
Julia Iman off a pass from
Sharon Roldan. A jumper by Charity Gallegos increased the Wildcat lead to 80-77. The 'Jacks scored the next three points and tied the game at 80-80 on a layup by
Ashley Peralta off another assist from Roldan with just 15 seconds left in the first overtime. A three by Morgan Mathis gave Chico State the brief 83-80, but
Julia Iman's three off a pass from Peralta sent the game into the second overtime.
SECOND OVERTIME: The second overtime went back and forth until the 'Jacks took a 91-88 lead on a three by
Sharon Roldan off a pass from
Ashley Peralta. Chico State tied the game on its next possession on a three by Bailey Jones. Neither team capitalized on their final possession of the overtime as the game went into the third overtime tied at 91-91.
THIRD OVERTIME: Two free throws by
Sharon Roldan gave HSU a 93-91 lead to begin the third overtime. A lay-up by Charity Gallegos tied the game at 93-93 on the Wildcats' next possession. HSU scored the next 11 points of the overtime to take a commanding 104-93 lead with just 18 seconds to go in the third overtime. A three by Bailey Jones cut the HSU lead to 104-96, but a free throw by
Kaz Parks made the final 105-96 'Jacks.
DIDN'T SIT: Ashley Peralta and
Julia Iman each played all 55 minutes for the 'Jacks this evening.
Sharon Roldan played all but five minutes for the 'Jacks.
DOUBLE-DOUBLES: Three Lumberjacks recorded double doubles this evening in
Julia Iman,
Madison Parry and
Sharon Roldan. Iman had a season high 33 points and 18 rebounds to go with her season high eight assists.
Madison Parry had 20 points and 11 rebounds while Roldan had 12 points and 12 rebounds. This was Iman's fourth double-double, Parry's third and Roldan's first.
SEASON HIGH IN THREE'S: HSU went 13-for-36 from three-point land.
Kaz Parks was five-for-14 while
Julia Iman went four-for-seven.
Sharon Roldan made two of her attempts while
Ashley Peralta and

UP NEXT: HSU ends its three-game road trip this Monday, December 20 with a 5:30pm scheduled conference contest at Sonoma State. The Seawolves lost 55-52 at Stanislaus State this evening in Turlock, Calif. This will be the Lumberjacks' last game of the calendar year. They will return to home to Lumberjack Arena on Sunday, January 2 when they entertain Sonoma State with a 1pm scheduled conference contest.
