So far the preparation to play the games this year have been quite interesting and challenging. Prior to this trip we had to get tested three times a week and all of the results had to be negative for us to travel. Even right now, on the road, we are scheduling many rapid COVID-19 tests and following all of the rules to make sure that we are staying healthy and not putting anyone around us in danger. Our coaching staff is doing a great job making sure that we all sign up for those tests in time. Another thing that we take extremely seriously while being on this trip is our school work. We have supervised study halls a couple of times a week, where we all do our homework and assignments. We attend all of our zoom classes too and want to say thank you to our professors for being lenient and understanding the situation we are in.
John Reitenbach with a dunk against Academy of Art
After the first game we had a meeting where we all discussed where our biggest mistakes were and where should we improve the most. We walked through our press and some of the plays that we were struggling with the most. We also did talk about what the Academy of Arts University is doing well and made some adjustments. However, as a brand new team with a new head coach and new system, we know that we mostly need to focus on ourselves and just try to get better on a day to day basis. We definitely want to win every game we play, but we also look at these games as a great way to learn and prepare for the next season.
