ARCATA, Calif.--- Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks lost 54-45 in a defensive struggle to the visiting Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles this evening on "Black Out Night" in Lumberjack Arena.
Sharon Roldan paced the 'Jacks with a season high 20 points while
Madison Parry recorded her ninth double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
FIRST QUARTER: Cal State Los Angeles (12-11, 11-6 CCAA) took a 7-3 early lead on a Lily Buggs' jumper early in the first quarter. A
Sharon Roldan lay-up capped an 8-3 run for the 'Jacks as they took an 11-10 lead with 2:28 left in the first quarter. The Golden Eagles finished the quarter outscoring Humboldt 4-2 to take a 14-13 lead heading into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: The Golden Eagles scored the first five points of the second quarter to take an 18-13 lead. A

Citlaly Davalos capped a 7-0 run by the 'Jacks as they took a 20-18 lead mid-way through the second period. Cal State Los Angeles finished the half outscoring the 'Jacks 4-2 to tie the game at 22-22 heading into the final two periods.
THIRD QUARTER: An
Ashley Peralta three off a pass from
Citlaly Davalos gave the 'Jacks a 27-24 lead four minutes into the half. An old-fashioned three-point play by Lily Buggs capped a 12-3 run by the visitors as they took a 36-30 lead with two minutes left in the third quarter. A Roldan lay-up off a pass from
Madison Parry capped a 4-0 run by the 'Jacks as they cut the deficit to 36-34 heading into the fourth quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Cal State Los Angeles increased its lead to 39-36 to begin the fourth quarter.
Sharon Roldan's free throws tied the game at 39-39 with 5:13 on the clock. An Iyanna Lamb jumper capped a 9-3 run by the Golden Eagles as they took a 48-42 lead with a little under a minute to go in the game. They finished the game outscoring Cal Poly Humboldt (7-15, 6-12 CCAA) 6-3 to take the 54-45 victory.
SEASON HIGH: Senior
Sharon Roldan finished with a season high 20 points to go with her four rebounds and a steal. Roldan went seven-for-eight from the field including three-for-four from three-point territory and a perfect three-for-three from the line.
NUMBER NINE: Madison Parry posted her ninth double-double of the season scoring 11 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. She also had three blocked shots, two assists and two steals for the 'Jacks in 40 minutes of work.
ONE POINT AWAY: Citlaly Davalos was one point away from her first double-double as she finished with nine points and ten rebounds. She also had three assists and two assists for Humboldt.
SENIOR NIGHT: Cal Poly Humboldt will finish out its 2021-22 campaign this Saturday, February 26 at 5:30pm when the 'Jacks host nationally ranked Cal State San Marcos Cougars. Prior to the game, Humboldt will recognize both teams' seniors including its own in
