Jacks to Honor Seniors and Recognize Mental Health Awareness in Final Four-Game Home Stand

Jacks to Recognize Their four Seniors in Katelyn Dendas, Emily McAdams, JoAna Mullins and Megan Holt on Saturday
ARCATA, Calif.--- Cal Poly Humboldt's softball team will host nationally ranked Cal State San Marcos in their final four-game home stand of their regular season this weekend, April 29-30.  Prior to Friday's doubleheader, the Jacks will recognize mental health awareness on Dam Worth It Day.  On Saturday in the Jack's Big Game, Humboldt will recognize its four seniors in Katelyn Dendas, Megan Holt, Emily McAdams and JoAna Mullins in between the games of the doubleheader.  Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1pm while Saturday's has an 11am starting time at Humboldt's Softball Field. 
 
RECAP OF LAST WEEKEND:  SF State swept the Gators last weekend in San Francisco 87-5, 6-4, 8-7 (12) and 7-1.  In game one of the four-game series, Hollee Travao had three hits and scored twice to lead the Jacks.  In Friday's night cap, Humboldt was paced by Izzy Starr with two of its seven hits in the game.  On Saturday in game one, JoAna Mullins had three hits and Travao and Megan Escobar each drove in two runs.  In the series finale, Humboldt had five hits in the game while Alyssa Ramirez drove in the Jack run and Vanessa Saltos scored their run.
 
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS' OFFENSE:  Cal Poly Humboldt is batting .277 as a team with three players hitting over .300 in Micaela Harris (.405), Izzy Starr (.388) and JoAna Mullins (.353).  Harris leads the team with her 66 hits, 52 runs scored, seven triples, 47 stolen bases, .632 slugging percentage and .473 on-base percentage.  Starr has hit a team leading 14 doubles while driving in a team high 35 runs.  Vanessa Saltos leads the Jacks with her ten home runs. 
 
LUMBERJACKS PITCHING STAFF IN REVIEW:  Humboldt's team earned run average is 6.07 with Gaige Garcia's 4.64 earned run average leading the way.  Karen Di Dio leads the team with her 62 strikeouts and seven victories.  She has a team leading seven complete games.
 
76 FOR 80:   Micaela Harris is now 76-for-80 in stolen base attempts since 2020.  She went 18 for 18 in 2020, 11 for 11 in 2021 and is 47 for 51  this season.  For her career, Harris is 112 for 121 in stolen base attempts. The senior outfielder/catcher is third on the Lumberjacks' all-time career list.  She is sixth on the top ten single season list at Humboldt.  Harris is also eighth in career runs scored with 171.

CCAA/NCAA RANKINGS:  As a team, the Jacks are first in home runs, third in doubles, fifth in runs batted in, on-base percentage and slugging percentage and sixth in hits and triples in the CCAA.  Four members of the Cal Poly Humboldt softball team are in the top eight in the CCAA in several individual categories. Micaela Harris leads the CCAA in stolen bases and is second in on-base percentage, runs scored, hits and triples.  She is fifth in slugging percentage, seventh in batting average and tied for eighth in home runs.  Harris is also in the top 15 in the nation in stolen bases (first), stolen bases per game (fourth) and triples (twelfth). 
 
COUGARS: No. 8 Cal State San Marcos enters this weekend with a 36-8 overall record including a 25-7 record in the CCAA.  The Cougars have a team batting average of .326 and a 2.16 earned run average.  Three players are hitting over .400 in Paige Donnelly (.450), Bianca Gutierrez (.421) and Savannah Coyle (.404).  Donnelly leads the team with her 51 runs batted in, 15 doubles, five home runs, .733 slugging and .493 on-base percentages.  Nikki Andelin leads CSUSM with her 17 stolen bases and is tied with Donnelly for the team lead in triples each with two.  Guiterrez leads the Cougars with her 56 hits and 35 runs scored.  Coyle leads the pitching staff with her 1.41 earned run average, 10 complete games, 15 victories and 106 strikeouts.  Jayline Sloss has a 1.92 earned run average and a 13-2 record.    
 
SENIOR DAY:  The Jacks will return home this week for the final time this regular season.  Humboldt will host No. 8 Cal State San Marcos in a four-game series this weekend,  April 29-30.  Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1pm with it being Dam Worth It Day out at Humboldt Softball Field.  The Jacks will be spreading awareness about Mental Health.  Saturday's doubleheader has a scheduled starting time of 11am.  In between the games of the doubleheader on Saturday, Humboldt will recognize its four seniors in Katelyn Dendas, Megan Holt, Emily McAdams and JoAna Mullins.
