ARCATA, Calif.--- Cal Poly Humboldt's fifth ranked women's rowing team will be competing for the 2022 Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships this Saturday, May 14 at Dexter Lake in Dexter, Ore.
Humboldt will be racing its varsity four+ and varsity eight+ this Saturday against conference opponents, No. 2 Central Oklahoma, No. 4 Western Washington and No. 6 Seattle Pacific. The novice 4+ will be racing in the open fours to start off the GNAC Championships at 11:30am.
The Jacks are third in the first NCAA Division II West Regional rankings that were released last Wednesday. Humboldt's varsity eight+ and varsity four+ each are third in the regional rankings.
Humboldt is coming off a strong showing at the 2022 WIRA Championships this Saturday at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. Humboldt's eight finished in second in the Grand Final. The eight consisted of

Kierstyn Hughes. The Jacks finished just four seconds behind Western Washington and were five seconds ahead of Seattle Pacific.
Among the teams competing in the WIRA's will be two of their GNAC opponents in No. 4 Seattle Pacific and No. 5 Western Washington. Seattle Pacific and Western Washington are also ranked in the region. Western Washington is third and Seattle Pacific is fourth as a team. In the varsity eight+, Seattle Pacific is third and Western Washington is fourth. Western Washington's four+ is first while Seattle Pacific is third.
The Jacks will find out this Monday, 16 at 5pm (ET) on ncaa.com if they are a part of the field for the 022 NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championships. This year's NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championships will take place May 27-29 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.
