ARCATA, Calif. - The Cal Poly Humboldt Women's Rowing team invites new and returning students to experience life on the water during the Open Boathouse Tour on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center (HBAC) in Eureka.

The event offers an opportunity to explore one of Cal Poly Humboldt's most unique athletic and recreation facilities while meeting members of the women's rowing team.

Incoming students can tour the boathouse, learn the basics of the rowing machine (erg), and discover what it is like to be part of one of the university's NCAA rowing programs. Coaches, student-athletes, and Outdoor Adventures staff will be on hand to answer questions about rowing, student involvement, and opportunities to get on the water.

In addition to rowing activities, attendees will learn about the extensive Outdoor Adventures program, which offers Cal Poly Humboldt students deeply discounted trips and equipment rentals. Programs include coastal hikes, backpacking excursions, paddle tours, outdoor skills workshops, and more, making it easy for students to explore the North Coast throughout the year.

Transportation will be available for students from campus. A shuttle bus will depart from the front of Harry Griffith Hall (HGH) every 30 minutes beginning at 10 a.m. Attendees are also welcome to drive directly to the HBAC.
The Open Boathouse Tour is free to attend and open to anyone interested in learning more about rowing, Outdoor Adventures, and the vibrant outdoor community at Cal Poly Humboldt.
