GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Due to incoming weather conditions forecasted for the Lake Lanier Olympic Park venue, the NCAA has announced an updated competition schedule for the 2026 NCAA Division II Rowing National Championships. All Division II racing is now scheduled to take place on Friday, May 29, and remains subject to further weather-related adjustments.
Under the revised schedule, the championship format has also been modified. Heat races will be contested Friday morning, with the top two finishers in each heat advancing directly to the Grand Finals. Crews finishing outside the top two in their respective heats will advance to the Petite Finals.
The Lumberjacks will begin competition in the Varsity 8 heat race at 8:10 a.m. Eastern (5:10 a.m. Pacific), followed by the Varsity 4 heat race at 8:26 a.m. Eastern (5:26 a.m. Pacific).
Championship finals, originally scheduled for Saturday, have been moved to Friday afternoon. The revised finals schedule is as follows:
With the schedule adjustment, NCAA Division II national champions are expected to be crowned Friday afternoon at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, provided weather conditions allow racing to proceed as planned.
