SEATTLE, Wash. — The Cal Poly Humboldt Rowing team was the top Division II finisher on the day and earned three outright wins to highlight an outstanding Saturday on the water at the Husky Open at Montlake Cut.
The 'Jacks kicked off the day with a second place performance in the V8+ race with a time of 6:59.873, finishing only two seconds behind Division I University of Portland (6:57.57) and nearly 13 seconds clear of GNAC foes Seattle Pacific (7:12.668) and Western Washington (7:16.834).
In the V4+ race, the North Coast squad took a six second victory over the Falcons of SPU, finishing the course in 8:12.502. The 'Jacks V4 squad turned around less than an hour later and recorded a second victory on the day with a time of 8:23.365, nearly eight seconds clear of Seattle Pacific (8:31.179).
The V8 squad also returned later in the morning and took a victory of their own, outpacing the Falcons by nearly 12 seconds to claim victory in 7:17.415.
