Cal Poly Humboldt Student-Athletes Earn 3.25 GPA in Fall 2024 Semester

ARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt student-athletes continued to demonstrate excellence beyond competition, achieving outstanding academic results during the Fall 2024 semester. The Lumberjacks' collective efforts resulted in a department-wide GPA of 3.25, showcasing their commitment to success both on and off the fields and courts.

Leading the way was the Humboldt softball team, which posted the highest GPA among women's programs and the department with an impressive 3.67. On the men's side, the basketball team stood out, recording a team GPA of 3.19. These achievements reflect the dedication of student-athletes to maintaining high academic standards while balancing the demands of collegiate athletics.

"We are incredibly proud of the academic accomplishments of our student-athletes," said Dr. Nick Pettit, Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics & Campus Recreation. "Their dedication to academic and athletic excellence represents the best of what it means to be a Lumberjack. We are thankful for our faculty, academic advisors, coaches, and staff who are committed to supporting our student-athletes in earning their degrees from Cal Poly Humboldt."

The department celebrated a total of 191 student-athletes who earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with 135 of those achieving a 3.5 GPA or better. Additionally, 58 student-athletes earned Presidential Scholar recognition for attaining a GPA of 3.85 or higher, while 42 more made the Dean's List with GPAs of 3.5 and above.
