ARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt volleyball dropped a three-set match (22-25, 17-25, 12-25) to visiting Chico State on Thursday evening inside Lumberjack Arena. Despite the loss, the 'Jacks came out strong in the opening frame and battled closely before the Wildcats pulled away late.
Graysen Trupp led the way offensively for Humboldt with 12 kills (.346%) and added two blocks, marking her fifth double-digit kill performance of the season. Both Brielle Wilson and Rahni Greene chipped in six kills apiece, with Wilson also distributing a team-high 12 assists. Claire Crawford added nine assists and an ace, while Greene tallied a pair of blocks and one service ace.
Defensively, Elizabeth Jade Andrade anchored the back row with 15 digs, followed by Crawford with nine and Katelynn Wakefield with five.
The 'Jacks hit .229 in the first set and matched the Wildcats kill-for-kill before Chico State's offense heated up in sets two and three. Humboldt finished the night with 31 kills, 26 assists, and 43 digs.
Cal Poly Humboldt (1-16, 1-8 CCAA) will look to bounce back on Saturday, October 18, when they host Cal State Monterey Bay at 2:00 p.m. for Parents Weekend inside Lumberjack Arena.
