ARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt volleyball wrapped up its final match of the Redwood Coast Volleyball Classic on Saturday afternoon at Lumberjack Arena, falling in straight sets to Dominican University of California (17–25, 18–25, 14–25). Both teams entered the matchup seeking their first win of the 2025 campaign, with the Penguins securing the result to move to 1-7, while the Lumberjacks sit at 0-8 heading into conference play.
The Lumberjacks battled early, with a balanced attack in the second set that featured 10 team kills on a .207 hitting percentage, their most efficient frame of the contest. Despite Humboldt's efforts, Dominican maintained steady offensive pressure, finishing with 30 total kills on a .193 clip, while also outpacing the Jacks in digs (44–35) and service aces (13–4).

Defensively, Greene also added 2 blocks, and Jennings chipped in 1 at the net. Wilson, Andrade, and Greene each tallied a service ace.
The Redwood Coast Volleyball Classic also saw standout honors for the Jacks, as Addison Bookstaber (OH) and Rahni Greene (MB) were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Brielle Wilson (S) and Tatyana Jennings (OH) earned Honorable Mention recognition for their performances throughout the four-match event.
The weekend closes the non-conference slate for Humboldt, who now shifts focus to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play.
The Lumberjacks open conference action at home next week, hosting (RV) Cal State Los Angeles (4-3, 0-0 CCAA) on Thursday at 7:00 PM and #19 Cal Poly Pomona (2-4, 0-0 CCAA) on Saturday at 2:00 PM in Lumberjack Arena. All home CCAA matches will have free admission, presented by Mortages by Oceana.
