VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt picked up a dominant 4-1 road victory over Lincoln University on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action, improving to 3-4-1 on the season. The Jacks came out firing early and never looked back, powered by a standout performance from junior midfielder Seth Uson, who recorded a hat trick and added an assist in the win.
The scoring began in the 11th minute when Uson found the back of the net off a smooth setup from Dominik Chipp to give Humboldt the early lead. Just one minute later, Uson turned provider, assisting Lucas Carballo for his first goal of the season to double the advantage.
Humboldt continued to control possession and tempo throughout the first half. In the 44th minute, Logen Coffin connected with Uson, who buried his second goal of the match to send the Jacks into halftime with a commanding 3-0 lead.
Uson completed his hat trick in the 75th minute, finishing off a pinpoint pass from John Warnell to extend the Humboldt lead to 4-0. With three goals and an assist, Uson was the clear offensive catalyst in the match and now leads the team in scoring.
Lincoln University (5-2-1) managed to pull one back in the 85th minute as Christopher Ortiz scored, but the Jacks' early surge proved too much to overcome.
