TURLOCK, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt battled throughout but came up short in a 3-0 road loss to Stanislaus State on Saturday evening at Fitzpatrick Arena. Set scores were 25-18, 25-19, and 25-18.
Freshman Emma Fauth was a bright spot for the Lumberjacks, leading the team with a match-high four service aces, while also contributing eight digs and a block. Offensively, Graysen Trupp paced Humboldt with nine kills, followed by Tatyana Jennings with five and Hollis Downing with four.
Setter Brielle Wilson directed the offense with 12 assists, while Sophia Spoja anchored the back row with a team-best 12 digs.
As a team, the 'Jacks totaled 30 kills and seven aces, showing stretches of strong play against the Warriors, who improved to 6-5 overall and 4-0 in CCAA action. Humboldt moved to 0-12 on the season and 0-4 in conference play.
The Lumberjacks will now hit the road again next week for more CCAA action, traveling south to face Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday at 5:00 PM and San Francisco State on Saturday at 5:00 PM.
