Humboldt Shoots Lights Out, Downs San Francisco State for Fourth Straight Win

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt men's basketball continued its red-hot start to the 2026 calendar year on Thursday night, knocking off San Francisco State 90-83 at the San Francisco Federal Credit Union Gym at Don Nasser Family Plaza. With the victory, the Lumberjacks won their fourth straight game and remained undefeated in 2026.

Humboldt delivered one of its most efficient offensive performances of the season, shooting nearly 58 percent from the field and over 60 percent from beyond the arc. The Jacks finished the night 26-of-45 overall and an impressive 14-of-23 from three-point range, controlling the game with balance, pace, and perimeter shooting.

Drew Ardouin led the team with 22 points off the bench, connecting on 6-of-8 shots from the field and 5-of-6 from long range. Ardouin's scoring punch proved critical as Humboldt built a five-point halftime lead and matched San Francisco State point-for-point in the second half to seal the road win.

Zaveion Bineyard delivered a strong all-around performance with 21 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range, while also pulling down a team-high seven rebounds. Shakir Odunewu added 15 points on an efficient 4-of-6 shooting night, contributing five rebounds and steady interior presence.

Wayne Hampton III continued his strong play at the point, finishing with 12 points and a team-high seven assists while shooting 4-of-5 from the field. Brandon Bento-Jackson rounded out the balanced scoring attack with 11 points, knocking down three triples and helping stretch the defense throughout the night.

Cal Poly Humboldt led 45-40 at the break and maintained its composure down the stretch despite several runs by the Gators. The Lumberjacks also benefited from 31 bench points and 18 fast-break points, showcasing their ability to score in transition.

With the win, Humboldt improved to 7-6 overall and 5-2 in CCAA play, which puts them tied for second place in the conference standings.

The Lumberjacks return to action on Saturday when they travel to No. 10 Cal State East Bay (13-0, 7-0 CCAA) for a CCAA matchup at Pioneer Gymnasium in Hayward. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
