SUNNYVALE, Calif. - The Cal Poly Humboldt women's cross country team closed the regular season with a 14th-place result in the invitational race and a third-place finish in the open race Saturday at the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara at Baylands Regional Park.

INVITATIONAL

Brinna Weiseth led Humboldt in the women's 6K invitational, completing the course in 21:34.0 to place 42nd overall and earn 39 team points.

Amaya Uvalle followed in 69th with a time of 21:56.6, while Sally Woodruff crossed in 22:26.7 to place 114th.

Aunika Miller finished in 22:38.8, and Analise Miller completed Humboldt's scoring five in 22:45.7.

Tea Kaizen rounded out the Lumberjacks' invitational lineup with a time of 22:57.7.

Humboldt finished 14th out of 23 teams with 411 points and a five-runner average of 22:16.36. Chico State won the team championship with 46 points, while Santa Clara's Milaina Almonte captured the individual title in 20:00.3.

Samantha Brink led a tightly grouped Humboldt lineup in the women's open race, placing 20th overall with a time of 23:11.2. Lyla Fedio followed just over one second later, crossing in 23:12.5 to finish 22nd.

Ariana Garcia gave the Lumberjacks their third finisher inside the top 30, recording a time of 23:34.0. Joanna Tobon placed 52nd in 24:08.1, and Anna Tasky completed the scoring group with a 54th-place finish in 24:13.8.

Only 62.6 seconds separated Humboldt's five scoring runners. The Lumberjacks combined for a time of 1:58:19.61 and averaged 23:39.92 across their scoring lineup.

Nayeli Huynh finished in 24:29.8, while Kelsey Calhoun recorded a time of 27:58.8.

Humboldt's 121 points secured third place in the 13-team field. Chico State won the open race with 26 points, followed by Clovis Community College with 64.

UP NEXT

The Lumberjacks will begin postseason competition Saturday, Nov. 7, at the CCAA Championships at the Cal State San Bernardino Cross Country Course in San Bernardino.
