COSTA MESA, Calif. — The Cal Poly Humboldt men's wrestling team turned in a standout performance at the 2026 MPSF Championships, finishing second overall with 128 points to secure its strongest conference showings since the MPSF Championships began last year.
The Lumberjacks trailed only Menlo College (155 points) in the final team standings and finished ahead of San Francisco State (118.5 points) and host Vanguard (76.5 points) in the four-team field.
Leading the way for Humboldt was sophomore Josh Neiwert, who delivered a championship performance at 133 pounds, winning the MPSF title and standing atop the podium. Neiwert's run highlighted a deep and balanced Jack lineup that consistently scored across weight classes.
In total, nine Humboldt wrestlers earned podium finishes (top three), underscoring the team's depth and consistency throughout the championship matches.

Additional point scorers included Garen Keshishian (125 lbs) and Sage Adie (184 lbs), who each placed fourth, while Jayson Victoria (149 lbs) competed for the Jacks.
The runner-up finish and nine podium appearances mark a strong statement performance for Cal Poly Humboldt on the conference stage, as the Jacks continue to establish themselves and prepare for the NCAA Super Region VI Championships in Golden, Colorado on Saturday, February 28.
