AZUSA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt men's track & field team turned in a strong showing across two days of competition at the prestigious Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific University from April 17–18. The Lumberjacks highlighted the meet with a school-record performance in the 4x400 relay and several standout individual efforts across both track and field events.

Bishop clocked a solid 10.89 in the men's 100-meter dash invitational preliminaries, showcasing his speed against a deep field of competitors. He later added a 21.90 performance in the 200 meters.
In the field events, Domingue delivered one of the top marks in program history. The mark moves Domingue from sixth to fourth all-time in program history, continuing his steady climb in the record books.
Meanwhile, competing at nearby La Verne College, junior thrower Joseph Gonzalez put together a dominant day, capturing first place in both the shot put and discus. Gonzalez posted a 16.53-meter throw in the shot put, the second-best mark of his career and just 21 centimeters shy of the facility record, while adding a 44.35-meter toss in the discus to complete the sweep.
Day 2 Highlights
The Lumberjacks carried their momentum into day two, highlighted by a record-breaking relay performance and a strong individual showing on the track.
Junior Joey Bowser bounced back in the 400 meters, clocking a 49.06 to lead Humboldt in the event.
The headline moment came in the men's 4x400-meter relay, where the quartet of Bennett Feldenkirchen, Cameron Bishop, Joey Bowser, and Jamie Saunders delivered a historic performance. The group raced to a school-record time of 3:13.22, earning an NCAA Division II qualifying mark and finishing sixth overall in a highly competitive field.
Gonzalez continued his strong weekend in the invitational section of the shot put, recording a 16.35-meter throw to place seventh against top-tier competition.
