ARCATA, Calif. - Cal Poly Humboldt men's track & field student-athlete
Michael Payan earned 2026 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors, while the Lumberjacks were also recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team after posting a 3.45 cumulative team grade point average.
Payan, a sophomore applied fire science & management major, earned the individual academic distinction after compiling a 3.75 GPA. He was among the NCAA Division II student-athletes recognized by the USTFCCCA for achieving excellence both academically and athletically.

As a team, the Lumberjacks recorded a 3.45 cumulative GPA to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors. The award recognizes NCAA Division II programs that demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement by maintaining a minimum cumulative team GPA of 3.00.
The recognition highlights Cal Poly Humboldt men's track & field's continued dedication to success in the classroom while competing at the collegiate level.
