'Jacks Bound for NCAA Division II Women’s Rowing Championships

ARCATA, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt women's rowing is headed back to the national stage after earning selection to the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championship, the NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Committee announced Tuesday during the NCAA Selection Show.

The NCAA Championships will take place May 29-30 at Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Georgia, with the University of North Georgia and the City of Gainesville serving as hosts.

Cal Poly Humboldt was one of six programs selected to compete for the national championship alongside Embry-Riddle (Florida), Jefferson, Rollins, Seattle Pacific, and Western Washington.

The NCAA team championship format requires each institution to field one Varsity 8+ boat and one Varsity 4+ boat. Humboldt earned the No. 2 overall seed in both classifications.

The Lumberjacks will open championship competition Friday in the heat races before advancing to Saturday's finals on Lake Lanier.

In the Varsity 8+ competition, Cal Poly Humboldt will race in Heat 2 alongside Rollins and Seattle Pacific. Humboldt's Varsity 4+ crew will also compete in Heat 2 against Jefferson and Rollins.

Embry-Riddle enters the championship as the defending national champion after capturing its first NCAA Division II Women's Rowing title in 2025 at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey.
