Cal Poly Humboldt Closes Out Preseason with 4-0 Win Against Oregon Tech

ARCATA, Calif. - Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer closed out its preseason in dominant fashion Saturday afternoon, shutting out Oregon Tech 4-0 at College Creek Field. The Lumberjacks scored twice in each half to secure their third exhibition victory and finish the preseason with another strong performance.

Humboldt wasted no time setting the tone, controlling possession and creating chances in the attacking third. The Lumberjacks opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Hayden Anderson continued her strong weekend and found the back of the net for her first goal of the afternoon, giving Humboldt a 1-0 advantage.

The Lumberjacks continued to pressure the Owl defense and doubled their lead in the 35th minute. Sari Murphy scored off assists from Sloane Jockin and Julia Martin, pushing Humboldt's advantage to 2-0 heading into halftime.

Humboldt carried its momentum into the second half and added another goal in the 74th minute. Aliyah Huynh found the back of the net off an assist from Charlotte Alvarez, extending the Lumberjack lead to 3-0.

The Lumberjacks capped the scoring in the 86th minute when Elisa Garcia converted a penalty kick to make it 4-0. The goal completed a dominant offensive performance for Humboldt, which finished with four different goal scorers.

Humboldt dominated the statistical battle throughout the match, outshooting Oregon Tech 18-3 and putting eight shots on target compared to two for the Owls. The Lumberjacks also controlled 59 percent of possession while Oregon Tech held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

The Lumberjack defense posted its second consecutive clean sheet, limiting Oregon Tech to just three total shots. Adea Nunes started in goal and earned the win after playing the first 45 minutes, while Izzy Boudreaux played the second half and made two saves.

With the 4-0 victory, Humboldt closes out its exhibition schedule with three wins and continues building momentum heading into the 2026 regular season.

UP NEXT

The Lumberjacks will now prepare for the start of the 2026 regular season with the Humboldt Kickoff Classic at home. The Jacks will host Central Washington on Aug. 27 at 3pm as well as Concordia University Irvine on Aug. 29 at 11:30am.
