Humboldt State's varisty eight squad clocked in at 7:22.18 to take the first place finish at the San Diego Crew Classic and bring home the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park Cup.

Katie Harris, Ashley Frakes, Chyna Balonick, Katie Lepley, Alex Torquemada, Anna Wagner, Molly Fisher, Jacki McPherson and Kaitlyn Shanle set out to bring back medals, and they showed it in their determination to succeed. 

Just like Saturday morning's race, the Jacks made their way toward the front of the pack, but this time had Central Oklahoma and UC Santa Barbara giving them a run for most of the race. However, also like yesterday, HSU sprinted the last stretch of the course to pull ahead of Central Oklahoma to finish two seconds ahead of the runner-ups.
