Lumberjack Notes
Joliann Arzadon finishes her Humboldt State career after four years of contributing in a variety of roles. She's served as a hitter and setter, contributing a career-high 855 assists in 2009-10 and totaling 1,738 in her career. Arzadon has also added 413 kills and 769 digs to her well-rounded totals. "Jo has been an enjoyable athlete to coach," head coach Sue Woodstra said. "She's very athletic and very competitive. When she's in setting, she has the ability to make bad passes into hittable balls. And it's a luxury to have a setter who is a good blocker and has great defensive ability." …Despite being slowed by injuries, including a major knee surgery, Toni Kroeker has left an impact on the Lumberjack record book. During her junior season of 2008, Kroeker totaled 119 blocks, a mark that ranks No. 2 on the all-time Jacks' single-season list. Playing only two full seasons because of her injuries, Kroeker still managed to post a career total of 190 blocks, ranking her sixth on the HSU all-time list. "Toni faced a real battle to come back and play following her injuries," Woodstra said. "To see what she's endured and watch her come out and give it a go this season has been a pleasure. She's a great presence on our team." …Humboldt State (1-23, 1-19 CCAA) is coming off a three-match week, falling at home to Sonoma State and then losing to San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay on the road. The week's highlight was Oceana Matsubu's performance on Wednesday against the Seawolves. The junior outside hitter put down a career-high 20 kills, posting a .310 hitting percentage in the four-set match.

Opponents Notes
Cal State Dominguez Hills is coming off a three-loss week, falling to travel partner Cal State Dominguez Hills and also UC San Diego and Cal State Monterey Bay. …The Toros bring a 3-23 overall record and 2-18 conference mark into this week's matches. They are the only team the Lumberjacks have defeated this season. …Denise Devine has been the Toros' top hitting threat, averaging 3.55 kills per set. Celeste Tuioti leads the team in digs with 248. …Cal State L.A. won two of the three matches it played last week, defeating Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State Monterey Bay and losing to UC San Diego. …Golden Eagles' sophomore Marquis Mora was named Molten/ California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance last week. In 11 sets, Mora had 33 kills, 12 blocks and had an outstanding hitting percentage of .508. In 59 attack attempts, the middle blocker had only three hitting errors.

Woodstra's Words
“Cal State Dominguez Hills plays aggressively. We want to match that effort and establish the pace." … "Cal State L.A. has had an up and down season. They're very physical. We'll try to keep them off the net had force them to hit long." … "Our focus is to take one match at a time, and try to be consistent with what we do. We'll do that again this week and hope to go out with a bang."
