ST. GEORGE, Utah – Humboldt State women's soccer did not get the start it had hoped for to open the Dixie State Tournament on Thursday. The Lumberjacks (1-3-0) fell to the host school (1-2-0), 2-0.
Dixie State went on top in the 15
th minute when they capitalized on a throw in for the opening goal. The Trailblazers added a second goal just after halftime when they scored on a 25-yard blast off a deflection in the 54
th minute.
Bridget Daley tallied two of the three shots for the Green and Gold, with
Myriah Epino adding the other.
Alex Dumas recorded a career-high six saves in net for HSU.
The Jacks will return to the field on Saturday night as it wraps the tournament with Colorado Mesa at 9 a.m.
