Golden Eagles Defeat Volleyball 3-1

Box Score LOS ANGELES – Humboldt State volleyball lost to Cal State Los Angeles 3-1 (16-25, 24-26, 25-23, 19-25) Saturday night in University Gym.

"Tonight we played an extremely talented Cal State LA team and came up short but my team played them extremely tough after the first set," said HSU Head Coach Kelly Wood. "We came out sluggish in set one but our confidence continuously grew as the match continued. The third set was some of the most inspired volleyball I've seen my team play all year. I'm proud of the effort. We are very optimistic about heading home, and we'll be focused and ready for the four match home streak that begins Tuesday versus East Bay."

Alex Lolland and Janelle Ayala led the Green and Gold with 13 and 12 kills, respectively.

HSU hosts Cal State East Bay Tuesday night in Lumberjack Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
