ARCATA, Calif.--- Despite taking an early 2-0 lead, the Humboldt State Lumberjacks fell 3-2 to the visiting Chico State Wildcats (6-1, 2-1 CCAA) this afternoon in a CCAA match at College Creek Field. The Wildcats scored three unanswered goals in the final 60 minutes to defeat their hosts.

Paul Karver. "The girls played very well but we were not clean enough key moments and that in the end costs us the game."
FIRST HALF: Humboldt State (1-4-2, 0-2 CCAA) took an early 1-0 lead in the sixth minute on
Kelsey Bess' first goal of the season. She connected on a ball from about five yards out to give the 'Jacks the early lead. The Lumberjacks had a chance to double their lead twice in the 17
th minute, but Victoria Graham stopped both of them off the foot of
Lindsay Stoner and
Pikake Hix. HSU doubled its lead on a goal by Stoner in the 20
th minute, her third goal of the season.
Katelin Talbert stopped Chico State's Kylie Martinez shot on goal attempt in the 25
th minute. Just two minutes later, Chloe King cut HSU's margin in half on a ball from Susanna Garcia. HSU had a chance to increase its lead, but Stoner's shot on goal attempt was stopped by Graham in the 34
th minute. Graham made another save in the 44
th minute, this time off the foot of
Sabine Postma to send the match into the half with HSU leading 2-1.
SECOND HALF: The Wildcats came out of the locker room on fire as they tied the match at 2-2 in the 49
th minute on a goal by Abbie Jones off a ball from Mackenzie Gill. They took the 3-2 lead in the 61
st minute on a goal by Camille Lidster. Chico State held the 'Jacks without a shot attempt in the final 30 minutes to hang on for the 3-2 win.
GOALIES: Katelin Talbert had six saves in goal for the 'Jacks while Victoria Graham also had six saves in goal for the Wildcats.
UP NEXT: Humboldt State will host Stanislaus State this Sunday morning at 11:30am. The Warriors defeated SF State 2-1 this afternoon in San Francisco, Calif.
