ARCATA, Calif.--- Selia Torres scored off a cross from Skyler Hoy in the 48
th minute to give the visiting Stanislaus State Warriors the 1-0 win over Humboldt State this afternoon at College Creek Field in Arcata, Calif.
Katelin Talbert had seven saves in goal for the Lumberjacks.

FIRST HALF: Stanislaus State (8-2, 3-1 CCAA) recorded the first shot on goal attempt in the 13
th minute which
Katelin Talbert stopped off the foot of Autumn Halvorson. One minute later, Talbert made another stop this time off the foot of Sadie Ortiz. Humboldt State had a chance to take the early lead but
Sabine Postma's shot sailed wide right. The Warriors had another chance to take the lead, but Ortiz shot was stopped by Talbert in the 38
th minute. The last shot on goal attempt of the half came in the 42
nd minute when Talbert stopped Ilena Rivera's attempt.
SECOND HALF: The Warriors took the 1-0 lead just two minutes in the second half when Torres connected on a ball from Skyler Hoy to give the visitors the 1-0 lead.
Pikake Hix had a chance to tie the game at 1-1 in the 54
th minute, but Alyssa Herman made one of two saves on the afternoon. Humboldt State (1-5-2, 0-3 CCAA) had one more chance to tie the game, but
Selena Osorio's shot sailed to the left of the goal as the Warriors held on for the 1-0 victory.
GOALIES: Katelin Talbert had seven saves in goal for the Lumberjacks while Alyssa Herman had two in goal for the Warriors.
UP NEXT: Humboldt State will be in Southern California for two CCAA matches next week. The Lumberjacks will face No. 2 UC San Diego on Friday, October 11 at 7pm in La Jolla, Calif. They will travel to San Marcos on Sunday, October 13 for a 11:30am starting match with Cal State San Marcos. HSU will return home on Friday, October 18 at 12:30pm, when the Lumberjacks host Cal State East Bay.
