ARCATA, Calif.---  Holly Kaemerly scored her seventh goal in just the fourth minute of the match to give the visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros the 1-0 victory over the Humboldt State Lumberjacks this afternoon at College Creek Field.  HSU will return to the pitch for the final time this Saturday, November 9 at 2pm when the Lumberjacks host Cal State Los Angeles.  Prior to the match, HSU will recognize its nine seniors.
 
FIRST HALF:  Holly Kaemerle connected on what proved to be the game-winner at the 3:05 mark of the first half.  Her unassisted goal came from 20 yards out and went into the upper right of the goal.  Humboldt State (4-10-2, 3-8 CCAA) had a chance to tie the match in the ninth minute when Poppy Cartledge's shot was stopped by the Toros' Alyssa Newsom.  Cal State Dominguez Hills had a chance to double its lead in the 44th minute when Katelin Talbert stopped Madeleine Simmons shot attempt to send the match into the half with a CSUDH 1-0 lead. 
 
SECOND HALF:  In just the third minute of the new half, Pikake Hix had a chance to tie the match for Humboldt State but Newsom made another one of her three attempts on the afternoon.  Kendal Spencer looked like she was going to tie the match for the 'Jacks but Newsome made her final save of the afternoon in the 68th minute.  The Lumberjacks had one more chance in the 75th minute when Cartledge's shot sailed wide as the Toros hung on for the 1-0 victory.
 
UP NEXT:  HSU will finish off its regular season this Saturday, November 9 at 2pm, when the Lumberjacks host Cal State Los Angeles.  Prior to the match, the Lumberjacks will recognize its nine seniors Kaleigh Alves, Rose Harman, Pikake Hix, Jacquelyne Kittredge, Taylor Lawson, Cameron Mejia, Valerie Perez, Lindsay Stoner and Kaitlin Talbert.
