ARCATA, Calif..--- Humboldt State will face its arch-rival Chico State this Thursday, February 27 in its regular season home finale. This will be Senior Night at Lumberjack Arena as the 'Jacks will recognize their five seniors in
Deion Alston,
Zachariah Christian,
Leland Green,
Rob Lewis and
Jackson Strong prior to the game. This will also be Think Pink Night as Lumberjack Fans are encouraged to wear pink.
RECAP OF HSU'S LAST GAME: The Lumberjacks won their last game 79-64 over Stanislaus State this past Saturday in Turlock. The 'Jacks were led by
Leland Green's game high 30 points while
Rob Lewis chipped in 16 points and
Isaiah Pope added 10 points.
UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: HSU is 9-17 overall and 5-16 in the CCAA, which places them in 12
th place. The 'Jacks are averaging 78.0 points per game while giving up 82.7 points per game. They are being out-rebounded 34.5 to 33.4.
Four players are averaging double digits in scoring in
Leland Green (13.8 ppg),
Jackson Strong (12.8 ppg),
Rob Lewis (12.5 ppg) and
Zachariah Christian (10.4 ppg).
Isaiah Pope is right behind Christian at 9.7 points per game. Christian leads the team with his 5.7 rebounding average, 55% shooting from the field and 20 blocked shots. Strong leads the way for Hsu with his 81 treys made and 40% shooting from three-point land.
Leland Green has dished out a team high 68 assists while Pope leads the team with his 27 steals and 87.5% shooting from the line.
BALANCED SCORING ATTACK: In all but three of the Lumberjacks' first 26 games, Humboldt State has had at least three players score in double digits. The only two games were December 5 at Cal Poly Pomona, January 11 versus No. 6 UC San Diego and February 6 vs. Cal Poly Pomona. Heading into this weekend, four players are averaging double digits in scoring paced by
Leland Green at 13.8 ppg. Right behind Green are
Jackson Strong (12.8 ppg),
Rob Lewis (12.5 ppg) and
Zachariah Christian (10.4 ppg).
Isaiah Pope is right behind Christian at 9.7 points per game.
MOVIN' ON UP: Jackson Strong moved up to fifth on the Lumberjacks' all-time career list with his 170 three-point field goals made in his two-year career in the Green and Gold. Last season, Strong made 89 which is second on the HSU single season list and this season he has made 81 which places him fourth.
In the recent NCAA Division II men's basketball statistics report that was released this morning, Strong is 38
th with his 81 three-point field goals made this season. He is also 40
th with his 3.12 three-point field goals made per game average. Strong is three away from moving past Grayson Moyer (2004-08) into fourth place on Humboldt State's career list. Ernie Spada (2008-11) holds the all-time career mark with 202 followed by Vince Zinselmeier (1993-97) with 196 and Austin Nichols (2000-04) with 193.
The 2019-20 Academic All-District 8 honoree is fourth on the single season list with his 81 three's made this season. He is three away from moving past Austin Bryan (2014-15) into third place. Last season, Strong made 89 treys which is second on the single season list while Isaac Gildea holds the single season record with his 96 three-point field goals made during the 2000-01 season.
ASSIST/TURNOVER RATIO: As a team, Humboldt State has a +1.0 assist to turnover ratio heading into this week. The Lumberjacks have six players that have dished out more assists than turning the ball over. The five 'Jacks are

Amari Green (44 assists, 32 turnovers),
Isaiah Pope (51 assists, 42 turnovers),

Isaiah Pope's 875% shooting.
Jackson Strong is next at 83.8% followed by

UPDATE ON THE WILDCATS: Chico State is 20-6 overall and 15-5 in the CCAA after winning seven of its last ten games including the last three in a row. The Wildcats are coming off a 77-58 win over Sonoma State this past Saturday at home. They are in a three-way tie for second place with Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona.
Chico State is averaging 79.3 points per game while giving up 68.3 points per game. The Wildcats are out-rebounding their opponents 37 to 29.5. Five players are averaging double digits in scoring in Malik Duffy (13.2 ppg), Kevin Warren (12.2 ppg), Justin Briggs (11.9 ppg), Calvin Geraci (11.4 ppg) and Isaiah Brooks (11.1 ppg). Briggs leads the team with his 7.8 rebounding average, 45 blocked shots and 60% shooting from the field. Broooks has a team high 96 assists while Duffy leads the team with his 56 treys and 48% shooting from beyond the arc. Geraci leads the team with his 87.5% shooting from the line and Warren has a team leading 37 steals.
The Wildcats won the first meeting this season back in December in Chico, 93-66. Isaiah Brooks paced Chico State with 22 points.
Zachariah Christian led the way for HSU with 20 points while
Jackson Strong chipped in 16 points and
Amari Green chipped in 13 points.
