ARCATA, Calif--- Humboldt State's volleyball team will face Sonoma State this week in a home and away series. The 'Jacks will host the Seawolves this Wednesday, October 13 in Lumberjack Arena in their Big Game. The two teams will face each other in Rohnert Park this Saturday, October 16 in The Wolves Den. Both matches will have a first serve scheduled for 5pm.

Kelly Wood. Coach Wood is assisted by
Paul Castillo who is in his third season on Coach Wood's staff.
BIG GAME: This Wednesday's match at Lumberjack Arena is volleyball's Big Game. The 'Jacks are looking to pack the arena to cheer them on during their match.
RECAP OF THIS PAST WEEKEND: The Lumberjacks (3-8, 2-6 CCAA) went 0-2 this past weekend on the road in the CCAA. On Thursday evening in San Marcos, the 'Jacks lost in three sets (9-25, 19-25, 21-25) at Cal State San Marcos.
Kaitlyn Patterson had 15 digs while
Nicole Yakushenok recorded 10 assists for HSU.
Hannah Cantrell and
Lindsey McLaughlin each recorded five kills. Humboldt State traveled to Hayward on Saturday afternoon and lost in three (17-25, 20-15, 15-25) to Cal State East Bay. McLaughlin paced the 'Jacks with her seven kills and five total blocks while
Gianna Giacomotto added 10 digs.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Lenox Loving has recorded four double-doubles this season with a season high 23 kills against Academy of Art on Sept. 11.
Riley White has recorded one double-double in HSU's win at Cal State Dominguez Hills with a 16-assist, 13-dig performance.
TEAM LEADERS: Lindsey McLaughlin leads the team with her 88 kills and 37 total blocks.
Lenox Loving is second on the team with her 83 kills followed by
Hannah Cantrell with 72.
Carla Crespo leads HSU with her 151 digs while
Riley Tishlarich has a team leading 193 digs followed by
Riley White with 138.McLaughlin also leads the 'Jacks with her 15 service aces.
CCAA LEADERS: Lindsey McLaughlin and
Carla Crespo each are in the top 10 in the CCAA in two statistical categories. McLaughlin is seventh with her 37 total blocks while Crespo is tied for seventh with her 151 digs.

SONOMA STATE: Sonoma State is 7-8 overall and 5-3 in the CCAA. The Seawolves are led by Kiana Richardson's 167 kills and Riley Beyma's 196 digs. Jenn Trephan has a team high 327 assists while Leilani Hillman has 57 total blocks to lead the way for SSU. Leading the way for Sonoma State in service aces is Emily Eaton with 23 followed by Bryana Slatyon with 22.
The Seawolves lead the all-time series with the 'Jacks 24-5 including winning the last ten matches in a row. Sonoma State won in five in November 2019 in Arcata and four in September 2019. The last 'Jack win was in 2014 a three-set win for the Lumberjacks.
