ARCATA, Calif--- Humboldt State's volleyball team begin their four-match road trip with a pair of matches in the Bay Area. The first part of the road trip will have the 'Jacks in Seaside, Calif., this Friday, October 29 for a 5pm match with Cal State Monterey Bay. The 'Jacks will continue their trip on Saturday, October 30 for a 7pm starting match with San Francisco State.

Kelly Wood. Coach Wood is assisted by
Paul Castillo who is in his third season on Coach Wood's staff.
RECAP OF THIS PAST WEEKEND: Humboldt State hosted two top 25 opponents this past weekend in No. 22 Cal Poly Pomona and No. 9 Cal State San Bernardino. On Thursday evening, HSU lost in three (21-25, 11-25, 22-25) to Cal Poly Pomona .
Lindsey McLaughlin had nine kills to lead the way for HSU while
Hannah Cantrell recorded three total blocks and
Carla Crespo had 13 digs. On Saturday evening, HSU lost in three to Cal State San Bernardino (23-25, 11-25, 18-25). Leading the way was
Anna Hospodar with her eight kills while Crespo had 24 digs. HSU enters this week with a 3-11 overall record and a 2-9 CCAA record, which places them in tenth place.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Lenox Loving has recorded four double-doubles this season with a season high 23 kills against Academy of Art on Sept. 11.
Riley White has recorded one double-double in HSU's win at Cal State Dominguez Hills with a 16-assist, 13-dig performance.
TEAM LEADERS: Lindsey McLaughlin leads the way for HSU with her 115 kills followed by
Anna Hospodar with 93.
Riley Tishlarich has a team leading 210 assists and
Carla Crespo leads the 'Jacks with her 220 digs.
Hannah Cantrell has recorded a team high 43 blocks followed by McLaughlin with 40. McLaughlin also leads the Lumberjacks with her 16 service aces.
CCAA LEADERS: The trio of
Hannah Cantrell,
Carla Crespo and
Lindsey McLaughlin are in the top ten in the CCAA in blocks and digs. Crespo leads the CCAA with her 4.78 digs per set average and is seventh with her 220 total digs. Cantrell is sixth with her 0.88 blocks per game average and seventh with her 43 total blocks. McLaughlin is ninth in total blocks (40) and in blocks per set (0.82).

CAL STATE MONTEREY BAY: The Otters are 8-8 overall and 2-10 in the CCAA, which ties them for 11
th place with Cal State Dominguez Hills. Abby Knapp leads the way for CSUMB with her 180 kills and 38 total blocks. Sam Chaven has a team leading 209 digs and Sophia Torres leads the way for CSUMB with her 384 assists. Leading the way with her 21 service aces is Kaylie Honberger. CSUMB leads the all-time series with the 'Jacks 17-11. The two teams split their meetings last season. The 'Jacks won in September in four in Arcata while the Otters won in five in November in Seaside.
SAN FRANCISCO STATE: The Gators are 16-3 overall and 9-3 in the CCAA, which places them tied for third place with Cal Poly Pomona. Jessica Haynie leads the way for the Gators with her 217 kills while Brianna DeBoer has a team high 320 digs. DeBoer leads SFSU with her 412 assists and 28 service aces. Bekah Roth has a team high 51 blocks. The Gators leads the all-time series 18-8 including winning the first meeting this season in three in Arcata on September 30. Roth led the way with her 13 kills for SF State while
Lindsey McLaughlin had a team high nine kills for HSU.
UP NEXT: HSU will finish off its four-match road trip with a pair of matches in the Valley. The 'Jacks will travel to Chico for a rematch with Chico State on Friday, November 5 at 5pm. They will conclude their road trip with a 5pm match on Saturday, November 6 in Turlock against Stanislaus State.
