First of all, on behalf of my team I just want to say a huge thank you to the Humboldt State University, athletic department and everyone in the community for believing in us and making this trip possible. These are very uncertain times and many other schools, especially in our conference that do not have this chance to play games, so we are truly grateful and will not take this for granted. These types of trips mean a lot to us. Not only because we get a chance to compete and play the game that we love, but we also get a chance to build stronger relationships with one another and become an even closer family. Trips like that are always a lot of fun too because we have a great group of young individuals and we make many unforgettable memories together. I know for a fact that as a senior, who is about to graduate, I will miss that the most.
Lumberjacks Getting Off the Bus Before
Their Game on Friday
Yesterday's game against Academy of Arts University went just as we expected. It was like a rollercoaster going up and down and it was not the prettiest game to watch. However, considering that we were missing many players and only had two weeks to prepare we are definitely happy with the outcome. We should have closed out and ended the game sooner, but many fouls, miscommunication defensively and poor execution of the plays down the stretch gave them a chance to come back in the game. However, I also do believe that it was a great test for us to see if we would fold or not and I am very happy that we did not. We are all super excited to get that first win for Coach Norwood, our coaching staff, ourselves and the entire Humboldt community. We hope to bring back many more wins in the future. We are united Jacks.
