PORTLAND, Ore.---  Brooke Weese connected on a penalty kick in the 60^th minute after Emilie Wallin was fouled in the box as Humboldt State defeated Portland State 1-0 this afternoon in a spring game in Portland, Ore.  This was the Lumberjacks' third shutout this season including their second consecutive against the Vikings.
 
"This game was a culmination of our spring season, in both practice and games" said head coach Grant Landy.  We have been building our mentality, work rate and our identity.  Today you saw the end product of that process for the spring.  Hopefully this will give us good foundation and momentum in preparation for the fall.  The team was very connected on this road trip and they played together.   I am proud of them for the work they put in this semester."
 
Portland State outshot the Lumberjacks and also held a 3-2 corner kick advantage. Alexis Aguilar recorded her third shutout in goal for Humboldt State.  This spring season Humboldt State finished 2-1-2.
