SUNNYVALE, Calif.--- The Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks sent a small squad down to the Bay Area this morning to compete at the flat and fast Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara University, at Sunnyvale Baylands Park.
Neither team had enough runners to register a team score. Aris Valerio led the men with his 52nd place finish in a time of 25:52 over the 8k distance. Charlie Becker-Ellison (97th, 26:45), Preston Breeze (99th, 26:47) and Lucio Rivas (123rd, 27:17) rounded out the Jacks finishers.
On the womens' side. Mariska Kessler (95th, 24:08) and Kayla Penny (100th, 24:17) competed over the 6k distance.
Both teams will be back in action next week, when the Jacks travel to Seattle to compete inthe Pre-Nationals Invitational at Chambers Creek Regional Park on Saturday, Oct. 22.
