ARCATA, Calif.--- Frida Duran Arellano scored the equalizing goal in the 16th minute of action to help the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks to a 1-1 tie with the visiting Cal State Monterey Bay Otters on Friday afternoon at College Creek Field. Emma McChristie, Kelsey Bess, Grace Johnson and Jysabella Tolentino also had shot attempts for the Jacks. Today's result also keeps the Lumberjacks within striking distance of the sixth and final CCAA playoff position with only two games remaining in the regular season.
Statistically, the Jacks had a slim advantage in shot attempts, 7-6, with four of those attempts on goal. The team also held an advantage in corner kicks, 6-3, while the Otters out-fouled the Jacks 9-6.
With the draw, the Jacks scored one point to move into a three-way tie for seventh place alongside Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State San Bernardino.
Humboldt (5-4-6, 2-2-5 CCAA) will continue its weekend homestand with a senior day matchup against Cal State Dominguez Hills (1-10-4, 1-5-2 CCAA) on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 11:30am.
