‘Jacks Fall to No. 19 Cal State San Marcos on Senior Night

ARCATA, Calif.--- The No. 19 Cal State San Marcos Cougars defeated the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks 75-47 on Humboldt's Senior Night.  The trio of Amari Green, Cam Timmons and AJ Sims each had 10 points for the 'Jacks.  Prior to the game, Humboldt recognized its senior in Amari Green.
 
FIRST HALF:  Cal State San Marcos (17-4, 13-4 CCAA) jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first four minutes of the game. Three minutes later, an AJ Sims lay-up off a pass from Cam Timmons cut the deficit to 10-6.  The Cougars increased their lead to 19-8 on a three by Tyrone Nesby IV.  An old-fashioned three-point play by Timmons off a pass from Amari Green cut the 'Jack deficit to 19-11 mid-way through the first half.  Cal State San Marcos went on an 11-0 run in the next six minutes to take a 31-11 lead.  A jumper by Sims cut Humboldt's deficit to 35-18, but the Cougars took a 37-18 lead into the locker room on a lay-up by Greg Milton III. 
 
SECOND HALF:  The Cougars came out firing on all cylinders early in the second half to take a 53-20 lead just four minutes into the new stanza.  A Blake Seits three increased the Cougar lead to 69-33 with eight minutes left in the game.  Cal State San Marcos took the 75-47 conference win.
 
TRIO WITH 10:  Three 'Jacks each finished the night  with 10 points in Amari Green, AJ Sims and Cam Timmons., who also had six rebounds for Cal Poly Humboldt (11-15, 6-15 CCAA).
 
AMARI GREEN:  Prior to the game, the Lumberjacks recognized Amari Green on Senior Night.  Green finished the night with 10 points and two rebounds for the 'Jacks.
 
JUST FOUR:  Cal Poly Humboldt just missed four free throws this evening. AJ Sims and Thomas Nelson each went two-for-two while Cam Timmons was four-for-five and Kobe Price was three-for-four and Jaden Edwards went two-for
