ARCATA, Calif. -- Cal Poly Humboldt Men's Basketball notched their second straight win on Tuesday evening after defeating Northwest Indian College (NWIC) in a non-conference match-up with a final score of 104-71. Five Lumberjacks were in double digits for scoring and the team collected 12 steals on the night. Freshman guard
Rob Diaz III led the pack with 21 points and four steals, while freshman forward
Sage Wayans was not far behind, collecting 17 points and seven rebounds.
Off to a back-and-forth start, the NWIC Eagles and Lumberjacks were tied at 25 points a piece with eight minutes left to go in the first half. Humboldt proceeded to go on a 9-0 run that sparked from back-to-back baskets by freshman forward
Sage Wayans and was capped off with a long ball from junior guard
Emanuel Steward. Shortly after, Steward hit another three-pointer to give the 'Jacks a 12-point lead, their largest of the first half. At the half, Humboldt held a 52-40 advantage over Northwest Indian College.
Humboldt blew the game wide open after going on a 27-2 run to open the second half and went up 35 points, 79-44. A
Brandon Bento-Jackson three-pointer with five minutes left gave the 'Jacks a 41-point lead, their largest of the game. Humboldt closed out the game with ease, defeating NWIC with a final score of 104-71. All 13 active players saw minutes tonight and 12 converted on at least one attempt from the field.

- The 'Jacks outplayed NWIC in points off turnovers (34-13), second-chance points (25-14), bench points (65-41), points in the paint (68-28), and fast break points (20-7)
- The 104 points was the most points scored in a game since Dec. 8 of last season, when the Jacks scored 112 points in the overtime loss to Chico State
