ARCATA, Calif. -- The Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer team announced their 2023 spring season schedule on Tuesday, which is highlighted by a home match on April 2 and the alumni match on April 29.
This past 2022 season, the Lumberjacks played their first winning season since 2015 and made the CCAA tournament for the first time since they entered the CCAA back in 2006. Despite a first round elimination to Chico State that ended the season after a 2-1 loss, the Lumberjacks have set the foundation for what's to come in the near future with a young group of players returning and five new members that were added this past signing day.
Head Coach
Grant Landy also reached a milestone when he recorded his 400th career win as a head coach the same day they clinched a spot in the conference tournament in the final home match of the season.
"We are excited to start our spring schedule at the end of March," stated Landy. "We have a big group this spring so this will allow us to implement new ideas and move players around on the field from game to game. Spring season is always important to the development of our group, both individually and collectively. Since the start of this semester, the players have brought a good competitive mentality and work rate to each and every training session we have had. I know they are looking forward to getting back on the field together for games."
The spring season consists of nine matches that begins on Sunday, March 26 at Dominican University in San Rafael, Calif.
