ARCATA, Calif. -- Cal Poly Humboldt's women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw against San Francisco State in a competitive match at College Creek Field. The Jacks, now sitting at 6-6-2 overall and 3-3-1 in conference play, outshot the Gators (3-10-1, 0-6-1) but couldn't convert opportunities to secure a win.
The match was a defensive showdown from start to finish. Cal Poly Humboldt applied consistent offensive pressure, registering a total of 14 shots with five on target, compared to San Francisco State's 10 shots with two on goal. Humboldt goalkeeper remained steady, making two saves and helping her team maintain a clean sheet. Gator goalkeeper also held strong under pressure, with five saves throughout the game.
Midway through the first half, San Francisco State's Kylee Medlin received a yellow card in the 24th minute, underscoring the game's intensity as both teams sought an advantage. Humboldt showed discipline in their approach, committing just six fouls compared to the Gators' 15.
Although neither team could capitalize on scoring opportunities, Humboldt's aggressive second-half offense kept fans on edge, as they recorded ten shots after halftime. Each side earned one corner kick, but defenses continued to prevail.
The Jacks will look to convert their efforts into points as they return to action next week, continuing their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) campaign.
