SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Cal Poly Humboldt kicked off a four game road trip from Coussoulis Arena in San Bernardino on Thursday evening. Despite leading for nearly 32 minutes, the 'Jacks fell just short of the upset and fell in the final minute to the 'Yotes with a final score of 61-56.
Kareem Clark notched a new career-high after scoring 20 points in the contest.
The Humboldt defense proved to be tough in the first half for San Bernardino, as the 'Jacks held CSUSB to just 21 points. At the break, Humboldt led 26-21. The Coyotes crept their way back into the game and outscored Humboldt 40-30 in the second half to grab the win. In the final minute, it was a one possession game as San Bernardino led 57-54. After failing to convert on a three-pointer that would've tied the game, the 'Jacks were forced to foul and CSUSB pulled away to hold on for the 61-56 win.
