CHICO, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt men's cross country team put together a strong team performance at the 2025 CCAA Championships on Saturday morning at Hooker Oak Park, placing fifth out of 10 teams (nine eligible for postseason) in a deep and competitive conference field.
The Jacks tallied 144 points as a team, led by junior Jacob Christopher, who finished 26th overall in 25:47.7 over the 8K course. Elias Wiggins was next across the line in 31st (26:04.0), followed by Spencer Borin in 37th (26:19.1). Daniel Shaver clocked 26:27.7 for 39th, and Arlo Gagnon rounded out the Jacks' scoring five in 42nd (26:38.1).
Close behind were Trevor Stewart in 43rd (26:39.4) and Gavin Burns in 44th (26:40.4), giving Humboldt a tight pack through the top 45 finishers and highlighting the team's depth and consistency.
"I'm proud of the good performance our team put together today," said interim head coach Scott Pesch. "We are on track to have a great finish to our season when we compete at the NCAA Regional Championships on November 8 in Oregon."
The defending champions from Chico State claimed their 23rd consecutive CCAA Men's Cross Country title, continuing their conference dominance.
Cal Poly Humboldt will now turn its attention to the NCAA West Regional Championships, set for November 8 in Monmouth, Oregon, where the Jacks will look to build on their strong conference showing.
