ARCATA, Calif. - Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer played to a 0-0 draw with Cal State San Marcos on Friday afternoon at College Creek Field. The Lumberjacks (2-3-3, 0-0-1 CCAA) matched the Cougars stride-for-stride in a tight defensive contest that featured limited chances on both ends.
Humboldt was able to generate 10 total shots, including four on goal, with midfielder Karsyn Ross leading the way. Ross recorded a team-high four shots, including two on frame, while Alexis Blue and Charlotte Alvarez recorded the other two shots on goal for the 'Jacks.
The Lumberjacks' defense held strong throughout the 90 minutes, keeping San Marcos off the board despite 12 total shots and six on target. Goalkeepers Carson Thomson-Terrel and Ari Beddoes split time evenly, combining for six saves to keep the Lumberjacks without a loss in CCAA play. San Marcos held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks, consistently applying pressure in the attacking third, but eventually could not kick one past Humboldt's strong goalkeeping.
