ARCATA, Calif. – The undefeated Cal Poly Humboldt men's wrestling team is back in Lumberjack Arena this Friday, December 5, for a dual against CSU Pueblo. Action is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. PT.

LAST TIME OUT

The Lumberjacks are coming off a full day of action at the Roadrunner Open in Bakersfield, where they combined for 12 individual victories, highlighted by five pins, four major decisions, and a tech fall.

Freshman Lucas Vasquez delivered Humboldt's fastest fall of the day with a 32-second pin at 149 lbs, while Darrell Nanpuya continued to shine at 141 lbs with both a tech fall and a major decision. Multiple Jacks tallied bonus-point wins, giving the staff another valuable look at lineup depth as the team shifts from tournament to dual-meet competition.

CSU PUEBLO

Friday's dual brings CSU Pueblo to Arcata for a matchup that will test Humboldt across all 10 weight classes. The ThunderWolves traditionally field a physical, upper-weight-strong roster, making discipline in scrambles and tough hand-fighting essential for the Jacks.

Humboldt will look to capitalize on its recent success in attack rate, particularly from the middle weights where Joe Anthony Perez, Gil Mossburg, and Kelly Little each posted strong performances in Bakersfield. The Jacks' lightweights, led by Dakota Sanders and Garen Keshishian, will aim to set the tone early with pace and pressure.

Key points of emphasis for Humboldt will include establishing first-period control, securing early takedowns, avoiding extended time in bottom position.

With a building home crowd and momentum from multiple standout performances, Friday offers the 'Jacks a prime opportunity to continue refining dual-lineup combinations.
