TURLOCK, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt Track & Field delivered a strong performance at the Kim Duyst Invite, hosted by Stanislaus State, with several Lumberjacks setting new personal bests across various events.
The Jacks saw standout performances in the javelin, with Damian Greenwood leading the way with a third-place finish and a personal record of 50.94m (167'1"). Ruari Mulrey (43.42m/142'5"), Michael Hickey (37.24m/122'2"), and Isaak Kasso (34.95m/114'8") also recorded PRs in the event. Kasso added another PR in the shot put, throwing 11.47m (37'7.75"), while Adam Gomez hit a personal best of 12.74m (41'9.75") in the same event.
On the track, Walker Dorris posted a PR in the 100m with a time of 11.87. In the 200m, both Adam Smith (23.18) and Aidan Shelton (23.27) set personal bests, while Conor Pratt clocked a PR of 11.18 in the 100m.
In the 400m, Donovan Bailey ran a solid 51.53 (PR), finishing 12th overall. Michael DeTamble placed ninth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.28, and in the 110m hurdles, Dorris placed seventh overall with a time of 15.54.
The Lumberjacks also had strong performances in the throws and jumps. In the discus, Mulrey placed fourth with a throw of 41.73m (136'11"), while Robert Cardenas finished sixth at 40.88m (134'1"). In the hammer throw, Gomez finished ninth with a mark of 45.74m (150'1").
Cal Poly Humboldt continues its season next weekend at the Chico State Wildcat Invitational, looking to build on this strong showing in Turlock.
