Cal Poly Humboldt Women’s Soccer Alumna Megan Janikowski Signs Professional Contract in the Philippines

ARCATA, Calif. — Former Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer standout defender Megan Janikowski is continuing her playing career at the professional level, signing with Stallion Laguna FC of the PFF Women's League—the top-tier women's soccer league in the Philippines. Janikowski was also joined by fellow Lumberjack alumna Rhea Chan on the Stallion Laguna FC roster, reuniting the former teammates in Biñan Laguna, Philippines.

"I'm incredibly excited to continue playing the sport I love at the next level," Janikowski shared. "This was a dream I never expected to pursue, but now I'm so grateful for the opportunity! I've been in the Philippines for about two months, and I've fallen in love with the culture, the people, and the surroundings. I'm enjoying exploring new places while getting the chance to play the sport I'm passionate about."

Originally from Fallbrook, California, Janikowski was a key contributor during her time at Humboldt, as she was named All-CCAA twice (Second Team in 2023 and Honorable Mention in 2024). Her move to Stallion Laguna FC marks a significant step in her soccer journey and further extends the reach of Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer on the international stage.

The reunion with Chan adds a special twist to Janikowski's professional experience. Chan, who initially joined a different club overseas, transitioned to Stallion Laguna FC after her previous team folded—and the pair quickly rekindled their chemistry from their college days.

"It's been so fun—definitely takes us back to Humboldt times," said Janikowski, reflecting on reuniting with her former teammate.

In addition to Janikowski and Chan, fellow Humboldt alumna Julia Humphries is also playing professionally in the Philippines with Kaya FC–Iloilo. The trio of former 'Jacks now represent Cal Poly Humboldt across the highest level of women's soccer in the Philippines.
