Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer wrapped up its Colorado trip on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 setback against No. 19 UC Colorado Springs at Mountain Lion Stadium. The result moves the Lumberjacks to 1-3-2 overall on the season, while the nationally ranked Mountain Lions improved to 4-1-1.
UCCS capitalized on its chances in the opening half. Brooke Pavlich scored both first-half goals for the Mountain Lions—netting the opener in the 23rd minute from an Abby Stassi assist and doubling the lead in the 43rd minute off a feed from Elise Broberg.
The Lumberjacks responded after halftime with more sustained possession and created six shots in the second half, but the Mountain Lion defense held firm. UCCS added an insurance goal in the 74th minute when Casey Tadlock finished a pass from Malia Groshong to make it 3-0.
Overall, Humboldt tallied 10 shots (five on target) compared to 19 from the Mountain Lions. Goalkeepers Carson Thomson-Terrel and Ari Beddoes recorded three saves, while UCCS's Nylah Mirshafiei stopped five to secure the clean sheet.
The match, played in front of 107 fans, also saw Josie Wolitzky pick up a first-half caution for Humboldt.
Cal Poly Humboldt now turns its attention to the final non-conference matchup of the year, returning home next Saturday to face San Francisco State (0-3-2) at 11:30 AM.
