nARCATA, Calif. – Cal Poly Humboldt women's soccer earned its second result of the season on Sunday morning, battling Hawai'i Pacific to a 0-0 draw at College Creek Field. The Sharks turned in a gritty defensive performance, holding off a relentless Lumberjack attack to preserve the shutout.
The Lumberjacks (0-1-1) put on sustained pressure on the offensive side of the ball throughout the match, as Humboldt tallied 27 total shots and 10 shots on goal. Karsyn Ross put the most pressure on the Sharks as she had five shots, including one on goal. Heidie Munoz and Morgan Young added three shots each as well while forward Annie Hoffman put her only two shots of the game on goal.
On the defensive side, Hawai'i Pacific was limited to four shots on target and one shot on goal as Humboldt put immense defensive pressure on the Sharks for the entire 90 minutes. The second half saw the 'Jacks find that next level of defensive intensity as the Sharks could only find one opportunity to put a shot near the net. Humboldt looked to control the tempo from start to finish despite the 0-0 result.
